Poem
Evan keeps a journal in his class at school. In it, there is space to draw as well as to write. When he came home, he said that he had drawn a book in his journal and then had written a poem inside of it:
I can read
I can write
I can tell a trilobite

I had to look up trilobite.
I figured as it was Evan, it was some sort of insect, but wasn’t positive.
THAT IS SOOOOO COOL! NOT SURPRISING COMING FROM EVAN, BUT SOOOOO COOL!
Bright boy, that kid! Teacher is going to have her hands full keeping up with where his mind is racing to.
Evan sure has a gift for poetry. I agree with Wendy, he will most likely challenge his teacher this year, but hopefully inspiring her to challenge him as well. This made me think again what a wonderful thing it is to be able to read and to write.
